The contest

The contest will begin in November 2009 with a six-month advertisement period until the 15th of May 2010.

Potential contestants will have free access to download selected works of composer Pablo Aguirre from www.beyondtango.de. The website also provides the application documents as well as the terms and conditions. Requirements for application are a resumé, the completed application form, and a recording of at least one of Aguirre's works. Musicians may apply using an online form with an mp3 upload feature, or conventionally by mail. The application is free of charge.

Applicants will be notified of the jury's decision on their admission four weeks after the end of the application period. The jury consists of renowned protagonists of musical life. The criteria for admission to the contest are the musician's skill as well as the interpretation. The notice of admission will also inform musicians of their options for forming ensembles.

The concert and the release of the album are scheduled for the 20th of November 2010 in the Saalbau of the Heimathafen Neukoelln in Berlin.
